Shirley Doherty "Shirl"

Shirley peacefully passed away at home on the 7th March 2026, aged 89, with her loving family at her side. Shirley a devoted Wife of John, a much loved Mum, a loving Mother-in-Law and a proud Gran and Great Gran, who will be sadly missed and forever fondly remembered by all her family & friends.

Funeral for Shirley Doherty

A Funeral Mass is being offered at St Bernadette's R.C. Church , Shevington Wigan on Thursday 9th April 2026 at 10am followed by a committal at Charnock Richard Crematorium. The service will be led by Fr Vijay Bhasker, accompanied with Organist Anthony Hughes & The Three Churches Choir.

The funeral cortege will be arriving the family home at 09:45am and then meeting everyone at the Church.

Please note there is a free car park to the side/rear of the Church.

The family will be wearing traditional funeral wear with a splash of purple, which was Shirley's favourite colour.
